American Ultra - Reality Imitating Art?

I watched American Ultra recently. It was released in 2015.

In the movie on the news it said there was a Super Typhoid Outbreak because of certain test monkeys. It was a monkey virus that was contagious. (This sounds familiar to “Monkey Pox”). In the movie the monkey virus was a lie. It was put on the news so a special group could do an operation to kill some people. There was no virus outbreak but made to look like there was.

They put innocent people on the news with a phone number so people can report them even though they are the good guys. These innocent people were being searched for to be killed.
